Devotees thronged the Sammankodu Sri Kathirvelaiyutha Swamy temple in Bambalapitty early in the morning. They filled their brass or stainless steel pots with pure milk, decorated it with a piece of Dark Pink cloth, fresh flower garland, holy ash, sandalwood, and vermilion, carried them into the temple, participated in prayers, and carried the pot of milk on their heads, walked a long way to another temple for offering. Songs dedicated to the Goddess added colour to the festival. Some devotee chanted and some sang songs for the Goddess while decorating the pot or being in the queue or walking with the pot of milk .

Female devotees are dressed nicely and neatly, and they looked spiritual. This year 2,852 female devotes took part in the festival. The procession of milk pots began from the Sammankodu Sri Kathirvelaiyutha Swamy temple in Bambalapitty to Sri Mayrapathy Paththirakaali Amman temple in Wellawatte.
